Northern Oaken War Maneuvers

NOWM stands as one of the Middle Kingdom’s premier warm-up events for the Pennsic War. Over the course of event, fighters take to the field—both heavy and rapier—to sharpen their skills, while archers, youth combatants, artisans, and performers from across the Midrealm (and beyond) join in the action. This vibrant camping event kicks off the summer season with a perfect blend of martial training, creative expression, camaraderie, shopping, and outdoor fun—everything you need to get into the Pennsic spirit!
Northern Oaken War Maneuvers is generally held on the second weekend of June in Wellington, OH. To look at past NOWMs, please visit the Cleftlands Wiki.
Regular Event

The Barony of the Cleftlands has a reputation for hosting extraordinary events—war practices, bardic roundhouses, coronations, and even collaborative sessions with both the Royal University of the Midrealm and the Æthelmearc Academy. But sometimes, you just need a good, old-fashioned event. A Regular Event in the Cleftlands was created to fill that niche. This gathering brings together the populace, neighbors, and far-flung friends for a day packed with fencing, heavy combat, archery, enriching Arts & Sciences classes, and a lavish feast capped off with a grand ball—weather permitting, of course (northeast Ohio winters have a mind of their own!). With a fresh theme each year, this “regular” event is anything but ordinary, offering new delights and experiences every time.
Regular Event in the Cleftlands is generally scheduled for the last weekend in January. To look at past Regular Events, please visit the Cleftlands Wiki.
Standard Bearers

The Barony of the Cleftlands, steeped in tradition and pride, is instantly recognizable by the striking white and blue nebuly worn by its members both on and off the battlefield. Once each year, the Baron and Baroness host Standard Bearers’, a tournament to decide who will carry the honor of representing the Barony in armored combat, rapier, archery, and the arts and sciences. Though often a cozy, local affair, this event is a celebration of skill, spirit, and community. In a unique twist, victory alone doesn’t guarantee the title—dedication, heart, and the willingness to embody the values of Cleftlands play just as vital a role as prowess. While it’s primarily focused on the baronial populace, all are welcome to participate—provided they’re ready to stand with honor beneath the Cleftlands banner until the next year’s challenge.
Standard Bearers is generally scheduled for either April or October. To look at past Standard Bearers, please visit the Cleftlands Wiki.
